Rishabh Pant, on July 24 (Thursday), became the leading run scorer for India in the World Test Championship history, surpassing former Indian captain Rohit Sharma.
The Indian wicketkeeper-batter went past Rohit’s total tally of 2716 runs on Day 2 of the fourth Test against England at Old Trafford, Manchester.

Pant, who fractured his toe on Day 1 while attempting a reverse sweep off Chris Woakes, walked out to bat to a heartwarming reception from the Manchester crowd on the second day.
In terms of average, this has been Pant’s best WTC cycle. The left-hander has been India’s best Test batter since his debut in 2018.
