Ganguly, Muralitharan, Morgan to play in Legends League Cricket

BCCI President Sourav Ganguly has not played cricket since his retirement from the game in 2015

BCCI President and former India captain Sourav Ganguly is set to return to the field after a gap of seven years for the Legends League Cricket (LLC) from September 17 to October 8.

The tournament confirmed the participation of 53 players including Eoin Morgan, Muttiah Muralitharan, Brett Lee, Shane Watson, Virender Sehwag, Ross Taylor and Dale Steyn.

According to ESPNCricinfo, the organizers are looking at Kolkata, Lucknow, Delhi and Jodhpur and either Rajkot or Cuttack as the possible venues for the competition.

The Pakistan players' participation is still in doubt as they would need permits to travel to India.

The first season of the LCC was played in Muscat last year comprising seven matches between three teams - India Maharajas, World Giants and Asia Lions. Darren Sammy-led Giants beat Misbah-ul-Haq's Lions in the final by 25 runs. Former India batter Mohammed Kaif captained the Maharajas in the first edition.
