Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) will have the services of Josh Hazlewood to choose from for their last league stage game against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on May 27 (Tuesday) at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Stadium in Lucknow.
However, the RCB spin-bowling coach Malolan Rangarajan feels that even without Hazlewood, the existing talent in the squad is equally good.
“We believe in the strength of the whole squad. There is Nuwan Thushara, who is champing at the bit. And people forget that we have a very talented Indian pacer, Rasikh Salam,” Rangarajan was quoted as saying in the pre-match press conference by Sportstar.
“So, while we are very happy about Hazlewood coming back to the squad, everybody needs to remember the quality that exists within our playing squad,” he added.
LSG have struggled this season, mostly because of the form of their skipper Rishabh Pant. However, Akash Deep feels that it is all about timing and, right now, timing is not with his skipper.
“I feel that there is such a thing as time in cricket. I don’t feel that there is pressure. But there is a timing. When you want to do something, but you can’t, I feel that there is that feeling with him,” Akash Deep said.
