Hardik Pandya To Undergo Fitness Assessment Ahead Of Asia Cup 2025

Meanwhile, Shreyas Iyer completed his fitness test between July 27 and 29 and is likely to make his T20I comeback

India’s premier fast-bowling all-rounder Hardik Pandya is set to undergo a crucial fitness assessment at the BCCI Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru on August 11 and 12, according to a Times of India report.

Pandya has been out of competitive cricket since the IPL 2025, spending the last two and a half months training in Mumbai. Given his pivotal role in both India’s ODI and T20I set-ups, the team management will be eager to have him fully fit ahead of the Asia Cup in the UAE, which kicks off on September 9.

Shreyas Iyer, fresh off a stellar IPL season with Punjab Kings (PBKS), completed his fitness test between July 27 and 29 and is likely to make his T20I comeback.

Meanwhile, T20I skipper Suryakumar Yadav is still recovering from sports hernia surgery. He has been advised to spend at least another week at the Centre of Excellence before resuming full training.

With the T20 World Cup 2026 in India and Sri Lanka looming in February, the Asia Cup will serve as the launchpad for India’s preparations. It’s the perfect opportunity for selectors and the team management to lock in their core squad.

Placed in Group A alongside Pakistan, UAE, and Oman, India will open their Asia Cup campaign against the UAE on September 10.
