Hasan Ali decides to stay back for PSL 2021
NEWSA day after opting out of the tournament, the Pakistan pacer decides to stay back in the UAE
Pakistan and Islamabad United fast bowler Hasan Ali has decided to stay with the team in Abu Dhabi and will participate in the Pakistn Super League (PSL), a day after announcing that he is heading back home due to personal reasons.
Hasan is United's best bowler this season having picked up 10 wickets at an economy rate of 5.83. He was due to fly back to Pakistan on Sunday (June 13), but after a chat with his wife, he has decided to stay back in the UAE. "I was going through a personal family issue, which has been resolved thanks to my wonderful wife," Hasan was quoted as saying.
"She has assured me she will take care of it and wants me to concentrate on my cricket and my career. Hats off to such a wonderful partner. She has always stood by me through the hardest times and after consulting with her I have decided to stay on with Islamabad United for the remainder of PSL 6. I would like to thank Islamabad United for their support and understanding during this tough period."
"As with his initial intention Islamabad United will always support any personal decision that one of our family makes," said Islamabad United Owner, Ali Naqvi. "It is fortunate for us that Hassan will be available for us through the rest of the tournament. But more importantly, we're happy that whatever issues there were have been resolved. We wish the very best to Hassan in every aspect of his life," he added.
Hasan missed United's impressive 28-run victory over Lahore Qalandars on Sunday. With this win, United went top of the PSL 2021 table. Hasan could be in contention for a place in the XI when United take on Karachi Kings later tonight.
