Have made peace with being dropped weeks ago: James Anderson

England's leading wicket-taker with 640 scalps in 169 Tests is looking forward to representing Lancashire in the County Championship, starting next month

England fast bowler James Anderson says he has made peace with being dropped from the squad weeks ago and looks forward to representing Lancashire in the County Championship starting next month.

England's highest wicket-takers Anderson and Stuart Broad were dropped for the West Indies Tests, paving way for Chris Woakes to lead the attack along with Mark Wood, Craig Overton and newbies like Saqib Mahmood and Matt Fisher.

"I made peace with the decision weeks ago," Anderson said, according to BBC.com.

"All I can do is get ready for the county season and show people what I can do.

"I feel in a good place physically and mentally and I am looking forward to playing for Lancashire."

England had decided to part ways with head coach Chris Silverwood, director of cricket Ashley Giles and assistant coach Graham Thorpe after a 4-0 Ashes drubbing.

Paul Collingwood has taken interim charge as head coach while Andrew Strauss has taken over as the stopgap director of cricket. The coaching structure for England at this moment still seems unclear.

This uncertainty has left Anderson unclear about his international future. England will play their first Test of the new season against New Zealand, starting June 2.

"I'm not sure what the coaching situation will be," Anderson, who has picked up 640 wickets in 169 Tests for England said.

"Those sorts of decisions and my England career it seems are out of my hands. I have to control what I can, that is play cricket and try to work hard at my skills and in the gym and get my body ready and see what happens."
