Wiaan Mulder, on July 7 (Monday), became only the second South African after Hashim Amla to score a triple century in Test cricket. The 27-year-old got to the rare landmark on Day 2 of the second Test against Zimbabwe at Queens Sports Club, Bulawayo.
Having already scored 147 in the first Test, Mulder was appointed South Africa’s stand-in skipper after Keshav Maharaj was ruled out of the second Test. Coming out to bat at No.3, Mulder got to his triple ton off just 297 deliveries and also went on to register the highest score by a South African batter.
