While Auqib Nabi's four wickets in four balls headlined day 2 of the Duleep Trophy 2025, his teammates Arshdeep Singh and Harshit Rana, two pacers who have been picked for the Asia Cup 2025, starting next month, too were in action for North Zone.
Between them, they bowled 31 of the 56.1 overs in the innings and shared three wickets between them against East Zone in Bengaluru.
Harshit finished with figures of 2/56 in 14 overs, while left-arm pacer Arshdeep bowled 17 overs for 1/51.
Rana managed to get the wickets of two of the top three batters, Utkarsh Singh (38) and Sridam Paul (7). However, Arshdeep did not add to his tally after picking up the first wicket of the innings when he cleaned up Sharandeep Singh for six.
Harshit was added as an injury over for the England Tests recently, but was released after that. Arshdeep, on the other hand, was part of the squad but did not get an opportunity to make his Test debut. They will be in action next month in the UAE, when India begin their Asia Cup campaign against the UAE on September 10.
In the ongoing Duleep Trophy match, North Zone have secured a lead of 175 in the first innings and will look to add to it and set a formidable target when play resumes on Day 3 on August 30 (Saturday).
