Hubli Tigers’ Mohammed Taha Smashes First Century Of Maharaja T20 Trophy 2025

It has taken only three games for the 2025 Maharaja T20 Trophy to witness a century

It has taken only three games for the 2025 Maharaja T20 Trophy to witness a century as Hubli Tigers’ Mohammed Taha, on August 12 (Tuesday) against Shivamogga Lions, brought up the first ton of the tournament, blasting an explosive 51-ball 100.

Taha, a Karnataka veteran who has been in the domestic scene for quite some time now, did not tee off from the get go, scoring just 29 off his first 20 balls. However, much like Dewald Brevis in Darwin, he went on a tear after a slow start, taking just 31 balls to score his next 71 runs.

From 68* off 42, Taha went 6 4 4 0 4 6 against let-arm spinner Hardik Raj to move to 92*. He got to his hundred in the 19th over, taking a single off V Koushik. He eventually got dismissed for 101 in the 20th over, but his efforts helped Hubli Tigers post 216/4 off their 20 overs.

Earlier, Taha was well-supported by RCB’s Devdutt Padikkal, who began the season with a well-compiled 50. Walking in at No.3, captain Padikkal amassed 52 off 32 balls. MI’s KL Shrijith (27 off 17) and SRH’s Abhinav Manohar (13* off 6) gave Hubli the final flourish they needed.

Tigers finished 3rd in the 2024 Maharaja Trophy. They reached the semis but lost to eventual champions Mysore Warriors.
