NEWSDelhi Capitals (DC) fast bowler Avesh Khan, who has been impressive this season has said that he is always on the lookout for wickets rather than containing runs. Avesh, who has picked up 21 wickets this season so far, impressed once again with the ball against Mumbai Indians (MI) returning with figures of 3 for 21 as DC went on to win by four wickets.
"Thanks to Rishabh, he has given me the opportunity to play this season, whenever I bowl, I always look to take wickets rather than looking to contain runs. I was trying to take the wicket of Hardik Pandya, the ball reversed a bit and hence I was able to dismiss him," Avesh told teammate Axar Patel in a video posted on IPLT20.com.
Avesh is the second-highest wicket-taker in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021, behind Harshal Patel with 21 scalps at 15 with an economy rate of seven.
DC have already qualified for the playoffs - but still have a couple of games still left in the group stages - starting with Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on Monday (October 4) and against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on Friday (October 8).
