Follow UsAfghanistan opener Ibrahim Zadran smashed 177 off 146 against England in Match 8 of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on February 26 (Wednesday). The right-handed batter hit 12 fours and six sixes, and broke multiple records during his stay in the middle.
Afghanistan got off to a terrible start against England, losing Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Sediqullah Atal and Rahmat Shah in the first nine overs. Zadran, however, looked compact from the word go and put on 103 runs for the fourth wicket alongside Afghanistan captain Hashmatullah Shahidi (40 off 67).

Zadran got to his fifty off 64 deliveries but then decided to shift gears, hitting his next 50 runs off only 42 deliveries. The 23-year-old completed his hundred off 106 balls and then smoked 77 off the next 40 deliveries. Thanks to him, Afghanistan posted a total of 325/7 in 50 overs.
