India were cruising along in their run-chase against Australia, with Virat Kohli and KL Rahul going great guns. Kohli had already stitched superb stands with Shreyas Iyer (91) and Axar Patel (44). The partnership with KL Rahul, too, was gaining momentum as the batter had hit two fours and a six across the previous two overs.
However, with Rahul taking the risks, the onus was on Kohli to get ones and twos and, whenever possible, hand the strike back to Rahul. Kohli could not control his impulse to go after leg-spinner Adam Zampa only to be caught at long-on.
Rahul was not pleased and said, "Main maar raha that naa" [I was going after the bowling] as Kohli walked past him on his way to the pavilion. India were just 40 away from victory when Kohli got out.
Fortunately, the rest of the batters played sensibly and took India home. Rahul remained unbeaten on 42 off just 34 deliveries to put India in the Champions Trophy final. India will now take on the winner of the New Zealand vs South Africa clash in the final on March 9 (Sunday) in Dubai.
