Chasing 237, Ravindra, who is playing his first game of the tournament, came in when New Zealand had lost a couple of early wickets. He steadied the innings with Devon Conway (30), putting on 57 for the third wicket. He then put on over 100 with Tom Latham, who himself is coming into this match at the back of a superb century against Pakistan in the previous game.
Ravindra already holds the record for being the youngest New Zealand player to score a century in ICC events. He did so against England at the age of 23y 231d in Ahmedabad in 2023 during the ODI World Cup. Ravindra holds four out of the top five slots in that regard.
