Curran's brain-fade moment, Pollard gets nutmegged, and more: Things you might have missed from ILT20 week 2

Even if you’re someone who has followed the ILT20 so far, chances are you might have missed these moments

There you go! We are now done with the second week of the 2025 edition of the ILT20, and it once again provided us with some truly exhilarating cricketing action.

But what if we tell you that ILT20 2025 has been ‘peak entertainment’ in more ways than one?

That’s right, every cricket match, in general, provides priceless moments that scorecards will never be able to capture and we’ve had a ton of those little, precious moments (light-hearted and otherwise) so far in ILT20 2025.

Even if you’re someone who has followed all the action so far, chances are you might have missed these moments we’re gonna list out.

And oh, to make sure you don’t end up missing even the smallest bits, here’s a reminder that you can catch all the action from ILT20 LIVE on FanCode.

Things you might have missed from the second week of ILT20

All is well that ends well

Shai Hope is a mighty fine wicketkeeper, but even the best in the business makes mistakes. However, not all mistakes have a bad ending, as you can see below.

Playing for Dubai Capitals, the West Indian fumbled an easy stumping off Sikandar Raza’s bowling and it looked like Desert Vipers’ Sam Curran would get a reprieve, but it wasn’t meant to be. Hope didn’t gather it cleanly but somehow managed to deflect it onto the stumps.

Not a stumping to be proud of, but who cares, right?

BTW, Curran did get his revenge

If it was Hope who got the better of Curran in the first innings, the all-rounder from England did the same to his counterpart in the next innings, and that too without the gloves.

Phew, that travelled some distance

Alex Hales loves hitting those big sixes, and this one went some distance. 109 meters to be exact.

In the same match, Hales became only the second batter after Chris Gayle (2188) to hit 2000 boundaries in T20s.

C’mon guys, this is not rugby

Sharjah Warriorz’s Jason Roy and Harmeet Singh were involved in a terrible mid-pitch collision in the game against table-toppers Desert Vipers.

While Harmeet saw the funny side of it, Roy wasn’t too impressed, at least for a while.

Shai Hope goes flying

Remember we told you Shai Hope is a mighty fine wicketkeeper? Here’s why:

Pollard gets nutmegged, twice

Kieron Pollard (69* off 49) did put on a show against Abu Dhabi Knight Riders but couldn’t get his team over the line.

Paceman Ali Khan took advantage of Pollard’s long legs and nutmegged him twice in the same match.

No-look shot? Maybe never look back at it shot

England’s Dan Mousley brought out the no-look shot against Gulf Giants but it didn’t make him ‘look’ great.

Mark Adair did look good, though, taking a brilliant high catch.

‘Spirit of the Game’ makes an appearance

There’s something about English players and them not staying in the crease till the ball/over is dead. Jonny Bairstow did it against Australia and paid the price. Tom Curran did it against MI Emirates, but the opposition skipper, Nicholas Pooran, was kind enough to let this one go.

Curran completed a run, tapped his bat on the ground twice and then left before the ball came into wicketkeeper Pooran’s gloves. The latter removed the bails and appealed for a run out, which was given out. Gulf Giants coach Andy Flower wasn’t too pleased, and then Pooran ended up withdrawing the appeal.

That was a brain-fade moment for Curran, who was lucky enough to survive.

Powerful highlight of a powerful man

Gulbadin Naib proves those big biceps are not just for show.

A wicket off the first ball, only to end up being a no-ball

Daniel Worrall thought he had a perfect start to the match, and he would have if hadn’t crossed the line.

Look who was at the ground to support the Knight Riders
