Spinner Mohammad Nawaz claimed 4-19 as Pakistan beat West Indies by 120 runs in the second ODI at Multan

Captain Babar Azam and Imam-Ul-Haq hit fifties while left-arm spinner Mohammad Nawaz claimed 4-19 as Pakistan beat West Indies by 120 runs in the second ODI at Multan on Friday.

The hosts sealed the three-match series by 2-0 after winning the first ODI by five wickets.

After electing to bat first, Pakistan lost opener Fakhar Zaman for 25 runs on the scoreboard. Babar then joined Imam as the pair added 120 runs for the second wicket.

Imam, registered his sixth fifty-plus score is as many matches, as he reached his 13th ODI fifty with a boundary off Hayden Walsh in 52 balls. Babar brought his sixth consecutive fifty-plus score with a single off Akeal Hosein in the 28th over. 

Off the very next ball, Imam was run-out by Nicholas Pooran's throw after a mix-up with Babar. Hosein dismissed the Pakistan skipper with a return catch in the 36th over as the hosts kept losing wickets at a regular rate.

Hosein sent back Mohammad Haris and Mohammad Rizwan while Alzarri Joseph dismissed Shadab Khan. Shaheen Afridi ended the innings with three boundaries off Romario Shepherd's final over as Pakistan ended at 275/8 in 50 overs.

Afridi struck in the first over as he removed first ODI's centurion Shai Hope off the first over as Kyle Mayers (33 off 25 balls) and Shamarh Brooks (42 off 56 balls) added 67 runs for the second wicket.

Mohammad Wasim removed Mayers in the 10th over while Nawaz sent back Brandon King for a duck in the next over. The left-armer then ripped through the middle order as he dismissed Brooks, captain Pooran (25) and Rovman Powell (10) to reduce Windies to 117/6.

Wasim (3-34) and Shadab Khan (2-40) then made light work of the lower order as West Indies were all out for 155 in 32.2 overs.

The third ODI will be played at the Multan Cricket Stadium on Sunday.
