There was absolutely no rain interruption on Day 1 of the second Test between India and England at Edgbaston. India made a solid start to the match, scoring 310/5. Skipper Shubman Gill led the way with an unbeaten 114, and Yashasvi Jaiswal also chipped in with 87.
The weather was bright and sunny throughout the day, making it ideal for batting. The bowlers toiled hard with Chris Woakes picking up two wickets, while Brydon Carse, Ben Stokes and Shoaib Bashir picked up one wicket apiece.
Will we continue to have bright sunshine on Day 2 as well, or will there be some rain interruption?
The conditions will be quite similar to Day 1. It will be yet another bright and sunny day in Birmingham, and the rains are expected to stay away. The temperature during the match is expected to be between 18°C and 22°C, making it an ideal day for cricket.
England will have to dig deep as they might not get movement off the air, as there is very little cloud cover throughout the day. However, on Day 1, they made the ball move quite well off the seam and will have to depend on those skills again on Day 2.
Long story short, we will have a full day's play even on Day 2 in Birmingham.
