India Women recorded the highest-ever total by an Indian team (men or women) in a white-ball game when they smashed Ireland Women all around the park and posted 435/5 in their 50 overs during the third and final ODI of the three-match series at the Niranjan Shah Stadium in Rajkot on January 15 (Wednesday).
With this, they beat the previous highest score of 418/5 set by the Indian men’s team in 2011 at Indore against the West Indies.
Highest total for India in ODIs (Men & Women)
435/5 vs Ireland, Rajkot, 2025 (Women)
418/5 vs West Indies, Indore, 2011 (Men)
414/7 vs Sri Lanka, Rajkot, 2009 (Men)
413/5 vs Bermuda, Trinidad, 2007 (Men)
This total of 435 is also the first 400-plus total by the Indian Women’s team as they become the third team after New Zealand and Australia to enter the 400-run club in Women’s ODIs.
While the Kiwi women have broken the barrier record four times, Australia have crossed the landmark only once, just like India.
Before this game, the highest WODI score for the Indian team was 370/5, achieved in this very series against Ireland, just two days ago on January 12 at the same venue.
This game saw Pratika Rawal smash her maiden WODI century and break many records while Smriti Mandhana hit the fastest WODI hundred by an Indian as Irish bowlers had no clue on how to stop the Indian openers, who also recorded the highest partnership for any wicket by an Indian women pair on Indian soil.
