Ahead of the well-awaited Women’s T20 World Cup 2024, India are set for a 10-day camp at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru. The camp is a preparation for the showpiece event, which will kick off on October 3 in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
According to Cricbuzz’s reports, India’s head coach, Amol Muzumdar, will oversee this 10-day camp, with a special focus set to be on the duo of Shreyanka Patil and Yastika Bhatia. While Patil is nearing a return to full fitness after fracturing her left hand, Bhatia suffered a grade 1 tear of the Posterior Cruciate Ligament (PCL) in her left knee.
The same publication also reported that the camp will include both players in the main squad plus the travelling reserves, lookingto have all of them prepared. India kick-off their T20 World Cup campaign against New Zealand on October 4 in Dubai, where they will play three out of their four group games under lights.
India will leave for the Middle East on September 24 before their first warm-up fixture against West Indies on September 28.
