Shubman Gill has been the batting mainstay for the Gujarat Giants ever since he has joined them. Now, he has registered yet another record while playing for them, as he breached the 1000 runs mark at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad in just 20 innings, becoming the second-fastest batter to 1000 runs at a venue in the Indian Premier League.
He pipped the likes of David Warner, Shaun Marsh and Suryakumar Yadav enroute this record, and his achievement is only bettered in this regard by Chris Gayle, who scored 1000 runs at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru in just 19 innings.
Gill reached this record as he scored his 14th run in the league stage game against Mumbai Indians after Hardik Pandya won the toss and sent Gill’s Gujarat Titans to bat first in Ahmedabad.
