Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) started their Indian Premier League 2025 campaign as if they were still playing in IPL 2024, smashing the bowlers all over the park and nearly beating the highest total in IPL record in their very first game on March 23 in Hyderabad against the Rajasthan Royals.
With 286 runs in their very first game of the season, they are sure to break a many records going ahead. Here are three possible but extraordinarily unbelievable IPL records that the SRH can create.
SRH Could Become First IPL Team To Touch 300-run mark
Having already touched the 270-run mark thrice, there would be no surprise if the Hyderabadis go on to become the first team in IPL history to put a 300-run total on the board. Four out of the top five highest totals in IPL history are in the name of the Sunrisers.
Sunrisers Could Hit 30 Sixes In A Match, Another First
Hitting 20 sixes would have been rated as a masterclass and ultra-aggressive by a team, just a few years ago. But today, after SRH have made six hitting a habit and something their batters know at the back of their hands, it looks like a clear possibility that SRH can hit 30 sixes in a game as well. So far, the most number of sixes hit in an IPL innings is 24 (by Punjab Kings against KKR).
Hyderabad Could Become First Team With 4 Players Scoring 50+ In Same Innings
The intent of the Sunrisers' batters is so impressive that one gets the assumption that if four of them get set, all of them could get to a fifty in that same innings. Ishan Kishan’s addition and his century in the very first innings for the new franchise are testament to that intent and attitude.
So far, three is the maximum number of batters from a side who have hit fifty in an IPL innings. Maybe, this year, there could be four and for that, players apart from Kishan, Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma must step up.
