IPL 2025: 3 Indian batters who have dominated Sunil Narine in IPL

Sunil Narine is easily the most successful overseas bowler in Indian Premier League (IPL). The batters have still been unable to break down the mystery aspect of his even after playing 14 seasons in the greatest franchise cricket competition.

He has gotten the better of the best in IPL as he has dismissed Indian T20 stalwarts like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Sanju Samson, and others. Still, there are a few Indian batters who have dominated against Narine in IPL.

Hardik Pandya

Playing against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) has always been great for any Mumbai Indians (MI) player due to them dominating the Kolkata franchise in head-to-head face-offs. Hardik Pandya too has had a terrific time batting against KKR as he has scored 395 runs in 14 innings with three fifties. His strike rate of 166 against KKR is the second-best for a batter who has played 200+ balls against them.

While facing KKR, he has managed to do well against Narine. He has scored 70 runs in eight innings, maintaining a good SR of 156. He has managed not to be dismissed even once he has successfully overcome his testing lines.

The Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) opener has sent big names like Rashid Khan, Arshdeep Singh, Kuldeep Yadav and others to the cleaners with his excellent range hitting. Among them is also Sunil Narine who has been hammered for 39 runs in 22 balls across four innings at a spectacular SR of 178. 

With KKR defeating SRH in the IPL 2024 final, Abhishek will be expected to exact revenge against KKR by smashing their bowlers in the upcoming encounters in IPL 2025.

He has hammered many well-known spinners like Wanindu Hasaranga, Kuldeep Yadav, Moeen Ali and others. He might not have smashed fours and sixes against Narine. But, he has managed to become the batter to have faced the most balls against Narine without getting dismissed in IPL, playing 70 balls, scoring 85 runs at a decent SR of 121.
