IPL 2025: 3 bowlers who MS Dhoni can dominate in upcoming season

You know the Indian Premier League (IPL) is around the corner when MS Dhoni starts to trend again. It has been 17 seasons of IPL, and the fandom and craze for Dhoni haven’t died. Not just that, Dhoni’s ability to clear boundaries, too, hasn’t dropped down one bit, as evidenced by his 13 sixes in IPL 2024. 

Yet again, all eyes will be on Dhoni and how many sixes he could hit in IPL 2025. So, who are the three bowlers that he can target and dominate during the 2025 season? 

Yuzvendra Chahal

Surprising, right? MS Dhoni’s form against spin might have dwindled over the years, but his record against legendary spinners in IPL history has been intact. Dhoni has quite a stellar record against Yuzvendra Chahal, against whom he has hit 100 runs, which includes seven sixes. 

With Chahal now part of Punjab Kings, there’s a good chance Dhoni can dominate the leg spinner in IPL 2025. 

Axar Patel

Everyone remembers the slaughtering. 

Dhoni hit Axar Patel for 23 runs in the last over to win a last-ball thriller for Rising Pune Super Giants. The 43-year-old has an incredible record against the left-arm spinner, scoring 75 runs without getting dismissed. 

He’s one of those rare bowlers who haven’t dismissed the former Indian skipper. 

Bhuvneshwar Kumar

There’s something about Dhoni and having a crazy record against IPL legends. The former Chennai Super Kings skipper has a stellar record against one of the best Indian bowlers in the competition, Bhuvneshwar Kumar.

In 57 deliveries, Dhoni has smashed 94 runs against the now Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) bowler at a strike rate of 164.9. Given RCB and CSK’s rivalry, Dhoni can add more runs and sixes to that record.
