Faf du Plessis will miss his second clash of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. Axar Patel confirmed that the veteran batter was injured and will not take part in the fixture against Mumbai Indians (MI). While the Delhi Capitals (DC) skipper did not mention the exact injury, it is believed that he has not recovered from the injury he suffered on the field against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) on April 10 (Thursday).
Du Plessis dropped a catch off Axar's bowling and fell on his head while looking to take a catch. He was immediately taken off the field and did not return to the field. As a result, du Plessis has not been named even in the impact players' list.
This is not the first time du Plessis has missed during the season. An injury kept him out of action even against Chennai Super Kings (CSK), which saw KL Rahul open the innings with 77 off 51 deliveries. That could be the case once again in this game, but there is no clarity on that yet.
DC are on top of the IPL 2025 table, having won all four of their matches so far.
