With 50 matches being done and dusted and only 19 games remaining in the league stage of the Indian Premier League 2025, the inevitable question around the points table is there. Not just in terms of who would top the table, but the fact that it is too crowded in the middle of the table makes things more interesting from a neutral perspective.
Despite losing four of the first five matches in the ongoing season, Mumbai Indians, led by Hardik Pandya, have staged an incredible comeback to win six matches on a trot to take the top spot on the points table. The camaraderie between players, which was somehow missing in the previous seasons, has been on show with the likes of Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, and Pandya himself delivering some massive hits along the way.
While Mumbai are at the top with 14 points, they are followed by Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) who are tied with them with the same 14 points, but they remain in the second spot due to the NRR difference. With 13 and 12 points respectively, Punjab Kings and Gujarat Titans are in the third and fourth positions. Delhi Capitals follow them in the fifth place with 12 points.
Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings are already eliminated from the tournament, but Lucknow Super Giants, among other teams, harbour hopes of a comeback to break into the top four. They are currently in sixth position with 10 points.
Kolkata Knight Riders currently have 9 points from 10 games, whereas Sunrisers Hyderabad, who mathematically still hold a chance, have six points only.
