History has been scripted at the Srikantadatta Narasimha Raja Wadeyar Ground in Mysore as Hubli Tigers’ Mohammed Taha has become the first player in Maharaja Trophy history to smash tons in consecutive innings.
Taha smashed his first ton of the competition on August 12 (Tuesday) against Shivamogga Lions, and today he followed that up with another sensational century against Bengaluru Blasters. While his first ton was posted off 51 balls, he brought up his second ton today off 53 deliveries. Taha’s efforts helped Hubli begin the season off with consecutive wins.
The clash between Hubli and Bengaluru today witnessed an extraordinarily dramatic finish as with 14 needed off 3 balls, with just two wickets in hand, Hubli’s went 6, 6, 4 to seal a remarkable win for the Devdutt Padikkal-led side.
Coming back to Taha, he is only the fourth batter to post multiple tons in the Maharaja Trophy.

Should Taha keep up this outrageous form till the end of the season, it’s almost inevitable that he will get picked at the IPL 2026 auction. Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) are in need of Indian uncapped batters as well, so the 31-year-old fits the bill perfectly.
