After the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) chair Mohsin Naqvi announced the dates of the Asia Cup 2025, the ACC, on their official social media handles, announced the full schedule of the tournament, which is set to begin on September 9.
The two arch-rivals, India and Pakistan, who were supposed not to play each other, at least that is what the stance of the countries suggested during the high-end conflict in May 2025, will meet in the tournament on September 14 (Sunday).
The venue of the matches has not yet been decided, but by and large, it is understood that the matches will be played in Dubai and Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates, as announced earlier by Naqvi.
Eight teams are part of the tournament, including India and Pakistan. The UAE and Oman will be part of Group A along with India and Pakistan. In Group B, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Hong Kong will complete the four teams.
Apart from the group stage games, India and Pakistan can play against each other in the Super Fours too, which will begin on September 20th.
Both teams can then also clash in the final, which will be played on September 28. The entire tournament will be held in the T20 format, keeping in mind the T20 World Cup 2026 in India and Sri Lanka.
