Veteran batter Kane Williamson will not take part in New Zealand’s upcoming three-match ODI series against West Indies, starting November 16 in Christchurch. The New Zealand selectors confirmed that Williamson has been rested to focus on preparations for the Test series scheduled next month against the West Indies.
The decision, taken as part of workload management, will allow the former captain to concentrate on the longer format following his recent retirement from T20Is.
The squad sees the return of pacer Matt Henry from injury and includes experienced names such as Tom Latham, Devon Conway, Daryl Mitchell, and Rachin Ravindra, alongside younger players like Zak Foulkes and Nathan Smith.
The ODI series will be played in Christchurch on November 16, Napier on November 19, and Hamilton on November 22, with Mitchell Santner leading the 14-member squad.
