Kane Williamson fined INR 12 lakh for maintaining slow over-rate during loss to RR

Williamson-led SRH succumbed to a 61-run defeat at the hands of the Royals

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) captain Kane Williamson has been fined INR 12 lakh for maintaining a slow over-rate in his side's 61-run defeat at the hands of Rajasthan Royals at the MCA Stadium, Pune on Tuesday (March 30).

Chasing 211, SRH managed just 149 for 7 thanks to some late hitting from Aiden Markram (57* off 41) and Washington Sundar (40 off 14).

"The Sunrisers Hyderabad have been fined after they maintained a slow over-rate during their IPL 2022 match against Rajasthan Royals at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Pune on March 29," the IPL stated in a media statement.

"As it was the team's first offence of the season under the IPL's Code of Conduct relating to minimum over-rate offences, Sunrisers Hyderabad captain Kane Williamson was fined Rs 12 lakhs," the statement added.

SRH will next play Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the Dy Patil Stadium, Navi Mumbai on Monday (April 4).
