Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) had a disappointing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 campaign, in which they finished seventh with just six wins under their belt. It marked a new era for LSG under Rishabh Pant, who was bought at a record-breaking sum of INR 27 crore.
However, according to the latest reports, LSG are set to part ways with former India pacer Zaheer Khan, who was with the team as a mentor.
“LSG is set to part ways with Zaheer Khan, and the new mentor will be given a bigger role to monitor RPSG Group’s other franchises,” a source told TOI.
According to the same report, LSG are set to appoint a new director of cricket, who will oversee the affairs at LSG, and will also take care of the other teams under the RPSG bracket, like Durban Super Giants (DSG) in the SA20 and Manchester Originals in The Hundred.
Zaheer had joined LSG following the departure of Gautam Gambhir and Morne Morkel in 2023. LSG recently appointed former India pacer Bharat Arun as their bowling coach for the upcoming season.
