List Of All Delhi Capitals (DC) Captains: Axar Patel Becomes 14th Captain For DC

It’s the start of a new era for Delhi Capitals (DC), who have appointed Axar Patel as the brand new captain of the franchise for the 2025 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). 

Axar was vice-captain of the franchise last year, and even captained them in a game in IPL 2024, and so it comes as little surprise that the all-rounder, a long-term servant of the franchise, got the nod ahead of KL Rahul as the brand new captain of the team.

On the back of the appointment, Axar becomes the 14th captain for the franchise. It was Virender Sehwag who started IPL 2008 as Delhi Daredevils’ captain, and they had 13 players captain the franchise across the next 17 years, with 7 of them being Indians.
