Lucknow Super Giants’ pacer Avesh Khan has been cleared by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) medical team and is likely to be available for selection against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on March 27, reported ESPNcricinfo.
Avesh last played a competitive game in January but seems to have recovered from his right knee injury. The right-arm seamer was doing his rehab at the BCCI's Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru, where he cleared a fitness test on March 24 (Monday).
LSG played with their second-string pace attack in their first match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 against Delhi Capitals (DC) and lost by one wicket despite scoring 209 in the first innings. Mohsin Khan is out of the tournament and has been replaced by Shardul Thakur.
Avesh now has the green signal, but Akash Deep (back injury) and Mayank Yadav (lumbar stress and toe injuries) are still recovering from their respective injuries.
LSG’s next game is against SRH, the same team that smashed 286 against Rajasthan Royals (RR) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. The SRH-LSG game will also be played at the same venue.
