Matthew Kuhnemann Illegal Action: ICC Give OFFICIAL Verdict On Australia Spinner
Kuhnemann’s action was reported in the aftermath of the two-Test series between Australia and Sri Lanka
In what comes as a huge relief for Australia and Matthew Kuhnemann, the left-arm spinner’s action has been deemed LEGAL by the International Cricket Council (ICC).
Kuhnemann’s action was reported in the aftermath of the two-Test series between Australia and Sri Lanka, after which the left-arm spinner underwent testing in Brisbane.
But the results have revealed that the amount of elbow extension for all his deliveries was within the 15-degree level of tolerance permitted under the ICC Illegal Bowling Regulations.
“Kuhnemann’s action has now been deemed to be legal, and the left-arm spinner will continue to bowl in international cricket,” the ICC confirmed in a release.
Kuhnemann was the star for Australia in their 2-0 whitewash of Sri Lanka. He took a whopping 16 wickets at an average of 17.18. Overall, the left-arm spinner has taken 25 Test wickets at an average of 22.20.
