MI Cape Town name Rashid Khan as skipper

The franchise also named Kieron Pollard as the skipper in ILT20

Mumbai Indians as a franchise know a thing or two about winning tournaments. But when they did not get any captain at the SA20 Auction, there was a doubt or two on who they would name as the skipper of the side.

On Friday (November 2), MI Cape Town broke the suspense, naming Afghanistan all-rounder Rashid Khan as the skipper of the side. Rashid was one of the talented superstars that the franchise managed to sign, alongside Sam Curran, Dewald Brevis, Kagiso Rabada and Liam Livingstone.

Further, they strengthened their setup with the inclusion of Rassie van der Dussen, Odean Smith, Ryan Rickelton, Olly Stone and Duan Jansen at the Auction. It didn’t end there, with the side also signing the express pacer, Jofra Archer as their wild-card pick.

Rashid has previously captained Afghanistan, and is hailed as a top-leader, with 486 T20 wickets and 1736 runs, cementing himself as perhaps the biggest name in the world of T20 cricket. Meanwhile Mumbai Indians veteran Kieron Pollard will lead the side in MI Emirates side, in ILT20.
