India batter Rohit Sharma has joined a special list of players during his knock in the third One-Day International (ODI) against South Africa in Visakhapatnam. He became only the fourth Indian player to go past 20,000 runs in international cricket.
Only Sachin Tendulkar (34,357), Virat Kohli (27,910) and Rahul Dravid (24,064) have scored more runs for India across formats.
Rohit also has 50 international hundreds and overall has 160 scores in excess of 50. The 38-year-old has played 67 Tests, 279 ODIs and 159 T20Is for India since making his debut in 2007. He has also led India in 142 matches (24 Tests, 56 ODIs and 62 T20Is).
The 38-year-old led India to the T20 World Cup title last year and also took them to the ODI World Cup final a year before that. Having retired from Tests and T20Is, Rohit is currently active only in ODIs with one eye on the 2027 World Cup in South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia.
