The India pacer previously held the top spot in January this year, but was displaced by Josh Hazlewood in March

India fast bowler Mohammed Siraj has returned to the top of the ICC rankings for bowlers following a brilliant show in the Asia Cup final, where he picked up six wickets against Sri Lanka. Siraj had previously occupied the position in January 2023 but was displaced by Australia's Josh Hazlewood in March. Siraj has jumped eight spots to regain the top spot.

South Africa spinner Keshav Maharaj also jumped 10 places to career-best 15th after finishing with 4 for 33 in South Africa's final match of the series against Australia in Johannesburg. In other significant movers, South Africa's Heinrich Klaasen has moved into the top 10 among batters for the first time after a cracking 174 against Australia at Centurion, while England batter Dawid Malan attains career-best 13th position after scoring 277 runs in three matches against New Zealand.

Among bowlers, the Afghanistan spin duo of Mujeeb ur Rahman and Rashid Khan have moved up to fourth and fifth in the rankings, respectively.

Among Indians, Shubman Gill (2) and, Virat Kohli (8) and Rohit Sharma (10) are the highest-ranked batters. Kuldeep Yadav (9) is the only Indian bowler other than Siraj to feature in the top 10, while Hardik Pandya (6) is the only India representative from the all-rounder's category.
