MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli have shared plenty of epic moments as part of the India dressing room. Among the top moments was when they won the 2011 ODI World Cup and the 2013 Champions Trophy for India. They have also shared plenty of match-winning partnerships, especially in white-ball cricket, and when they batted together, they would easily turn ones into twos and twos into threes.
Dhoni last played for India in 2019 but has since played in the Indian Premier League (IPL), where Kohli's Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) share an intense rivalry.
Opening up about his relationship with Kohli, Dhoni said, "We have been colleagues who played for India for a very long time. He has been amongst the best when it comes to world cricket. And the fact that I could bat a lot with him during the middle overs was a lot of fun because we used to take a lot of twos and threes in the game, so it has always been fun.
"It is not like we meet very often, but whenever we get a chance, we make sure that we go on the side and chat for sometime, we will talk about what is going on, so that is our relationship."
Kohli is back in action in the ODI series against Sri Lanka. He scored 24 off 32 in the first match in Colombo on Friday (August 2). This was his first match back for India since their triumph at the T20 World Cup 2024 in Barbados.
