Tristan Stubbs has joined the Delhi Capitals (DC) bandwagon ahead of their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 match against Gujarat Titans, the franchise confirmed on May 17 (Saturday).
Stubbs, who is part of South Africa's World Test Championship (WTC) 2023-25 Final squad, landed in India alongside veteran Faf du Plessis, who has no international assignments to deal with. DC also confirmed that Mitchell Starc joined countryman Jake Fraser-McGurk in not making a return to India for the remainder of IPL 2025.
“Australian pacer Mitchell Starc and South African all-rounder Donovan Ferreira are currently unavailable. Delhi Capitals fully respects their decision, and extends its support and best wishes for their continued success,” DC said in a statement.
DC, currently sitting fifth on the IPL 2025 points table, have already roped in Mustafizur Rahman as a temporary replacement for Fraser-McGurk. They will play their first-ever match after the resumption of the league on May 18 against league leaders GT at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi.
