MS Dhoni is 43 but is still going strong in the Indian Premier League (IPL). The wicketkeeper-batter, who was retained by Chennai Super Kings (CSK) ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction, said he has to train hard for six to eight months to keep himself fit for the two-month-long tournament.
Dhoni was phenomenal in the death overs last season. The right-hander faced only 73 deliveries in IPL 2024 but managed to smash 161 runs at an average of 53.66 and a strike rate of 220.54, smoking 14 fours and 13 maximums.

"I only play a couple of months in a year, but I want to enjoy it the way I started playing, that's something that keeps me going," Dhoni said during an event on February 21 (Friday), reported the Times of India.
"But, of course, for that, I need to put in a lot of hard work for six to eight months because IPL is one of the toughest tournaments. Nobody really cares about how old you are. If you're playing at this level, the level needs to be the same.”
CSK will start their IPL 2025 campaign against Mumbai Indians (MI) at Chepauk on March 23.
