Not Kohli: Bumrah rates himself fittest among all Indian cricketers

Indian speedster Jasprit Bumrah trended on social media after he took his name in a ‘tongue in cheek’ reply to a question where he was asked who is the fittest amongst all Indian cricketers. 

Bumrah’s answer had the crowd laughing as he out-guessed all of them, including the event host, who, in all likelihood, was looking for Virat Kohli as the answer. 

“I know the answer you are searching for, but I would like to say my name because I am a fast bowler,” Bumrah said while laughing, as seen in a viral video on social media. 

“I have been playing for a while...and being a fast bowler and playing in this country in this heat takes a lot of requirements. So I will always promote a fast bowler,” he added, this time with a composed demeanour. 

Earlier, many former cricketers and Indian coaches, such as Sanjay Bangar and R Sreedhar, had called Kohli the fittest Indian cricketer. 

Both Kohli and Bumrah will be playing together when the Indian team takes on Bangladesh in the first Test of the two-match series at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai from September 19 onwards.
