Over the last two weeks, Saim Ayub’s fortunes have turned upside down. On September 25 (Thursday), the left-handed batter registered his fourth duck in the Asia Cup 2025. After a dismal last few weeks, there were widespread expectations that the young star would turn around his fortunes.
But against Bangladesh, his bad tournament turned worse, as he registered a three-ball duck, getting out to Mahedi Hasan. It was the fourth duck in the ongoing Asia Cup 2025 for the left-hander, who became the first batter (top six) in history to score four ducks in a single competition.
Saim Ayub - 4 (Asia Cup 2025)*
Andre Fletcher - 3 (T20 World Cup 2009)
Terryn Fray - 3 (ICC Men's T20 World Cup Americas Region Final 2019)
Tunahan Turan - 3 (Continental Cup 2019)
Overall, across six innings, Ayub could only amass 23 runs in the competition, averaging 3.83, scoring just two boundaries.
