Pandya Back, Gill's Inclusion Subject To Fitness As India Announce Squad For SA T20Is

Pandya and Shivam Dube are fast-bowling all-rounders in the side

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the senior Indian men’s squad for the five-match T20I series against South Africa, scheduled to kick off on December 9 in Cuttack.

The squad announced on December 3 (Wednesday) featured Hardik Pandya and Shubman Gill in it. While Pandya has recovered from his quadricep injury sustained during the Asia Cup 2025, Gill’s inclusion is subject to him proving his match fitness.

Both Jitesh Sharma and Sanju Samson have been named as designated wicketkeepers, while Harshit Rana, Jasprit Bumrah and Arshdeep Singh are the three fast bowlers in the side. The side also includes four main line spin bowlers in Washington Sundar, Axar Patel, Varun Chakaravarthy and Kuldeep Yadav.

Pandya and Shivam Dube are fast-bowling all-rounders in the side while batters remain the same as the ones that toured Australia earlier this year. With the T20 World Cup 2026 in proximity, this series would be a key parameter to judge the players and move towards preparing the final squad for the defence of their T20 World Cup.
