After a quiet start to the Delhi Premier League (DPL) 2025, Priyansh Arya roared back to form in style, lighting up the tournament with a breathtaking hundred against East Delhi Riders on August 8 (Friday). The Outer Delhi Warriors opener blasted 111 off just 56 balls, studded with seven fours and nine maximums.
Priyansh was one of the undisputed stars of DPL 2024, amassing 608 runs in 10 innings at an astonishing average of 67.56 and a strike rate flirting with 200. His heroics earned him an IPL contract with Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the 2025 mega auction.
In his debut IPL season, the stylish left-hander scored 475 runs in 17 innings at a strike rate of 179.3, including a blistering 103 against five-time champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK).
Expectations were sky-high heading into DPL 2025, but the 24-year-old’s campaign began with a whimper - scores of 26 (15), 16 (19), and 8 (12) in his first three outings. Still, it was only a matter of time before he unleashed. Against East Delhi Riders, he tore into the bowling, particularly punishing Rohit Yadav and Raunak Waghela for a combined 64 runs off just 28 deliveries.
His onslaught propelled Outer Delhi Warriors to a towering 231/7 and brought up his third DPL century. In fact, Priyansh is the only player in DPL history with more than one hundred to his name.
