Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Mohsin Naqvi has confirmed that Pakistan will not travel to India to play in the Women's ODI World Cup in September-October this year. Pakistan won all five matches in the qualifiers to make it through to the mega event, along with Bangladesh.
It is in line with the ICC's agreement that neither India nor Pakistan will travel to either place. India played all of its matches in Dubai earlier during the ICC Champions Trophy, which it won. Naqvi said that Pakistan will also play all its matches in the Women's World Cup at a neutral venue.
"India and Pakistan matches hosted by either country at ICC Events during the 2024-2027 rights cycle will be played at a neutral venue,"
"Just like India didn't play in Pakistan in the Champions Trophy and were allowed to play at a neutral venue, whatever venue is decided, we will play. When there is an agreement, it has to be adhered to," Naqvi said, according to PTI.
Naqvi added that it is up to India and the ICC to determine the venue. India, England, New Zealand, Australia, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Pakistan and Bangladesh will play the mega event slated to be played between September 29 and October 26.
