India Women launched their Women's Tri-Nation Series campaign with a nine-wicket victory over Sri Lanka Women at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. In a match reduced to 39 overs per side due to rain, India chased down the target of 148 with 10.3 overs to spare.
Sri Lanka, opting to bat first, managed 147 runs in 38.1 overs. Hasini Perera top-scored with 30, while Sneh Rana led India's bowling attack, claiming three wickets for 30 runs. Nallapureddy Charani and Deepti Sharma contributed with two wickets apiece.
In response, India’s openers laid a solid foundation. Smriti Mandhana scored a quick 43, with Pratika Rawal continuing her impressive run of form with yet another half-century.
Rawal has already amassed 494 runs at an average of 82.33 in his ODI career so far. Her innings, alongside the support from Harleen Deol, who scored an unbeaten 48, ensured India reached 149 for 1 in just 29.4 overs.
