Rajasthan Royals (RR) registered the lowest total in the Indian Premier League 2025, scoring 151/9 in their 20 overs against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati on March 26 (Wednesday).
This is only the sixth game of the IPL 2025, and we have already witnessed six 200-plus totals, with Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) even smashing 286 against RR.
Mumbai Indians (MI) had the lowest total of the IPL 2025 before this game, scoring 155/9 against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at Chepauk.
Asked to bat first, Rajasthan lost Sanju Samson in the fourth over but Yashasvi Jaiswal (24-ball 29) and skipper Riyan Parag (15-ball 25) put the pressure back on KKR.
The surface, however, was holding up a bit, which brought KKR spinners Varun Chakaravarthy and Moeen Ali into play. The two spinners picked up two wickets each and conceded only 40 runs between them in eight overs.
But Dhruv Jurel (28-ball 33) and Jofra Archer (7-ball 16) made sure RR crossed the 150-run mark. It was refreshing to see batters struggle to hit the ball cleanly on a challenging surface, considering most of the pitches have been super batting-friendly.
