Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) captain Rajat Patidar called the cops on a couple of cricket fans from Chhattisgarh under very bizarre circumstances, according to a report on NDTV. The case involved his old phone number, which was deemed inactive after it was left unused for over 90 days.
The sim was purchased by a boy named Manish, who was unaware of who the number belonged to. After that, Manish and his friend Khemraj noticed that the WhatsApp profile had Patidar's image. After that, they began to call other members from the cricketing committee, like Patidar's RCB teammate Virat Kohli and his ex-teammate AB de Villiers.
Patidar then pleaded to the boy to return his sim, but the boys denied the request as he didn't believe that it was indeed Patidar. Patidar then told them he would call the police.
Within 10 minutes, the cops arrived at Manish's doorstep and sorted the issue out, and the sim card was returned to the rightful owner.
“I got to speak to Kohli because of a wrong number. My life’s goal is complete,” Khemraj said the TV channel, reflecting on the incident.
In June this year, Patidar led RCB to their maiden Indian Premier League (IPL) title, beating Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the final.
