RCB Announce ₹25 Lakh Compensation To Victims Of Chinnaswamy Stampede

11 fans lost their lives in a stampede outside the Chinnaswamy a day after the 2025 IPL Final

What was supposed to be the happiest day in Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) history turned into one of the most tragic days in the sport’s history as 11 fans lost their lives in a stampede outside the Chinnaswamy a day after the 2025 IPL Final. Having won the IPL for the first time ever, RCB planned a grand celebratory parade within the next 15 hours, but a tragic stampede ended up taking the lives of as many as 11 fans.

Now, the franchise have announced that every victim will be compensated with INR 25 lakh, as part of the ‘RCB CARES’ foundation started by the franchise in the wake of the tragedy.

“Our hearts broke on June 4, 2025. We lost eleven members of the RCB family. They were part of us. Part of what makes our city, our community & our team unique. Their absence will echo in the memories of each one of us,” RCB said in a statement.

“No amount of support can ever fill the space they’ve left behind. But as a first step, and with the deepest respect, RCB has extended ₹25 lakh each to their families. Not just as financial aid, but as a promise of compassion, unity, and ongoing care.

“This is also the beginning of 𝗥𝗖𝗕 𝗖𝗔𝗥𝗘𝗦: a long-term commitment for meaningful action that begins by honouring their memory. Every step forward will reflect what the fans feel, expect, and deserve.”

Post the stampede, the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium has been barred from hosting competitive matches. While the 2025 Maharaja Trophy was shifted to Mysore, the Women’s ODI World Cup matches scheduled for Bengaluru have been moved to Navi Mumbai instead.

At this point, it will be highly unlikely that RCB’s home games in IPL 2026 will be played in Bengaluru.
