Reports: Rahane ruled out of IPL with hamstring injury

Reports have confirmed that KKR's opener Rahane has been ruled out of the competition

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) batter Ajinkya Rahane has been ruled out of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 with a grade III Hamstring injury. The former India vice-captain is also set to miss the one-off Test against England in July as a result, according to a report on Cricbuzz.

Rahane suffered the injury during KKR's last game against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in Pune, where he also did not take the field during the second innings. The right-hander, who has been in and out of the KKR playing XI, is on the verge of exiting the bubble, reporting at the National Cricket Academy (NCA), where he will recover from the injury.

The former Indian vice-captain, had already lost his place in the home series against Sri Lanka recently, but played for KKR in the IPL, for whom he scored 144 runs at 19 in seven matches. While it is uncertain whether he was being discussed as a potential candidate to be on the English flight, it has been ruled out now.
