Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, Kuldeep Yadav, KL Rahul and Harshit Rana have arrived in Colombo for the three-match One-Day International series against Sri Lanka, starting on August 2 (Friday).
Meanwhile, the remaining members of the ODI squad will join the set-up after the third and final T20I in Pallekele on July 30.
According to a report in Cricbuzz, the members of the ODI squad will have a net session in Colombo on July 29 (Monday). One of the assistant coaches, Abhishek Nayar has left the T20I set-up after the second encounter on Sunday and will oversee the session.
The three ODIs will be played at the R.Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on August 2, 4 and 7. The Men in Blue have already taken an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match T20I series.
It’s also being reported that Morne Morkel will join the Indian coaching staff as a bowling coach for the home Test series against Bangladesh in September. Sairaj Bahutule is currently serving as an interim bowling coach in Sri Lanka.
Considering Morkel’s expertise is in fast bowling, former India legspinner Bahutule could be given the role of a spin bowling coach.
