SA women recall Masabata Klaas and Delmi Tucker for England ODIs

South Africa are trailing the three-match ODI series by 0-1 after losing the first ODI by five wickets

South Africa women have included seamer Masabata Klaas and allrounder Delmi Tucker to the ODI squad for second and third matches of the series against England.

Klaas, 31, last featured in South Africa's 2022 World Cup semifinal against England. She was earlier ruled out of South Africa's tour of Ireland and the one-off Test against England due to a shoulder injury.

Tucker made her ODI debut against Ireland last month and claimed 1-6 and scored 14 not out in the third ODI at Dublin.

The duo have arrived in the United Kingdom and will join the team in Bristol before the second ODI at the County Ground on Friday.

“Masabata Klaas and Delmi Tucker have now been recalled to the squad. The two players will serve as backup in the departments we have a couple of niggles, which is normal during back-to-back tours," South Africa women's team head coach, Hilton Moreeng said.

“They are going to bring a lot of freshness into the squad and add a lot of value in their disciplines, so for us a squad we welcome them back and we are looking forward to the rest of the tour,” he added.

After winning the T20I and ODI series against Ireland, South Africa managed to draw a rain-hit Test against England in Taunton. They lost the first ODI in Northampton by five wickets and will look to level the series by winning the second ODI on Friday at Bristol.
